Kaplan, Nishima

Nishima Kaplan was born in 1969, to parents who had recently immigrated from England and India. With a Christian mother and a Hindu father, she was relatively free to explore religion and identity on her own. While attending university, her spiritual quest led her to Judaism and she subsequently converted. Nishima graduated with degrees in Russian studies and Multinational Management. However, she continued to search for her life's work. She soon discovered that her deepest passion and destiny was to be a ketubah artist so she continued her studies and received classical training in drawing, painting, printmaking and sculpting. Nishima designed and painted her first ketubah as a wedding gift for friends. As it is said...the rest is history. Since then she has created hundreds of hand-made and limited edition ketubahs. All Nishima's ketubahs are available in multiple sizes--small, classic and large.
